    Guest Speaker: Mark J. Lindquist

    Keynote Speaking Masterclass:
How We Earned $1 Million Dollars in the First Four Years as a Professional Keynote Speaker

Mark J. Lindquist began speaking professionally in 2014 and less than four years later he has earned over one million dollars as a keynote speaker.  During this session he will show you every step of the process he followed to go from zero in 2013 to hundreds of keynote speaking gigs in 32 states for everybody from the Girl Scouts to the Fortune 500 during those four years.  He has built his keynote speaking empire on a 99.9% word of mouth basis and has developed a system that generates five-figure sales leads while he sleeps. His client list now includes: Microsoft, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Walmart, Lenovo, Philips, IBM, Deloitte, UPS and hundreds more.

    Takeaways:

    • Audience members will have the opportunity to see first-hand the speaking style, structure, and attention to detail that has led Mark to build a client base of hundreds with a marketing budget of ZERO.
    • Attendees will walk away with an individualized list of the things that they need to work on to put themselves on track to build a keynote speaking business similar to the one Mark has built.
    • Mark will share the audience engagement techniques that have consistently led to over 100+ laughs in a 90 minute keynote and 99% eyeballs (nobody on their phone, leaving the room, or daydreaming) during his keynotes.
    • Professional speakers will get advice on topics such as: negotiation, AV tips, rehearsal strategies, business structure, audience engagement techniques, discovering your best humor, and working with speaker bureaus.

Mark J. Lindquist is a nationally recognized motivational speaker and world-touring entertainer who has performed live for over 4 million people in 22 countries and 44 states throughout his career. As an actor, he has appeared in ABC’s LOST, CBS’ Hawaii Five-O and the Universal Studios movie “Battleship.”  Mark is a former Sergeant in the United States Air Force and an Afghanistan War Veteran who currently lives in Phoenix, AZ.

    Relatability: The Humanity of Speaking

Relatability is one of the most powerful tools we have as speakers. When we see ourselves in someone else we believe that we can. So if you are not delivering relatable stories in your talks then you, at best, leave your audience impressed but unable to connect with your message. This session will change that.  Using improv comedy games and a process James calls "Story Mining" you will learn that you have more stories than you think. After coming to this session you will leave with at least 3 new stories to incorporate into your talks, blogs, videos, podcasts, dinner table conversations. You will also leave inspired to put more YOU in your talks because relatability leads to memorability, and memorability leads to more opportunities.

    Key takeaways for attendees:

    • You have more stories than you give yourself credit for, we just need to uncover them.
    • Relatability is critical as a speaker – the audience must see themselves in you if you want your message to truly resonate and stick.
    • Attendees will leave with at least 3 new stories to tell on stage or in their writing.

James Robilotta, CSP® is an author, professional speaker, personal coach, and improv comedian.   After nearly 15 years, of speaking to audiences willing and unwilling, he has found that we as humans can’t learn from people who are perfect, we learn from people who are imperfect.  Stories in your authentic voice and words powerfully connects you with your audiences to create a genuine impact and memorability in your presentations.
